Colleen Senior Shoot

It’s amazing how time flies!  It doesn’t seem like it’s been more than two years since I left teaching, but now my second class of freshman are seniors!  How can that be?  Though I never taught Colleen, I often saw her around the halls of Cheyenne Mountain, as well as many other places, as her sister is my sister-in-law.  We had a great time doing her senior pictures – she’s grown into such a beautiful girl, it was easy to get great shots!  She also brought along her boyfriend Aaron, who was quite helpful when I wanted her to laugh, so we brought him in for a few shots too.  Thanks for a great session Colleen!  Enjoy your senior year!

Meet Emily Mae!

My husband’s best friend since Junior High recently welcomed his second baby, on his 30th birthday no less!  Miss Emily Mae was born July 24th to two very happy parents and an uncertain big brother!  Only kidding – Kolby is a great big brother, but I have been told that his angry eyes face (see below) made it’s appearance after Emily’s arrival.  Have a look at a few of my favorites from our newborn session.  And congratulations to Kurt, Rachel, and Kolby!

Fun in the Sun!

As my husband is heading back to school, I have to accept that summer is coming to an end.  To celebrate the fantastic weather we’ve been having, we took Isaac to America the Beautiful Park last weekend for a picnic lunch and some fun in the fountain.  Usually he’s a bit apprehensive about water, but this time he loved it!  There is nothing better in the world than watching my little guy laugh and play!

Congratulations Drew & Brittany!

Brittany and Drew were married on July 31st at the beautiful Cielo Castle Pines.  The entire day was fantastic, and though it threatened rain, surprisingly we didn’t get the downpour that was expected!  Brittany looked spectacular, as did the reception room!  It was every bit as elegant and romantic as Brittany described.  Thanks Brittany and Drew for including me in your special day!  Enjoy Maui!

Congratulations Jonathan & Melissa!

My favorite part of photographing weddings is getting to know the couples who invite me to be a part of one of the most important moments of their lives.  Knowing Jonathan and Melissa has been so much fun!  They are genuinely a joy to be around, and are always up for anything – seriously!  Part of their engagement shoot involved being barefoot in a cornfield in November, just after the snow had melted.  I’m surprised their feet didn’t just fall off!  Their wedding was perfect, very personal, and full of fun details – from the awesome orange shoes to the rocket groom’s cake (Jonathan nicknamed the wedding “The Rocket 2010″ because calling it “the wedding” just didn’t have the same effect!).  There was even a butterfly that landed on her bouquet during some of the pictures.  It just doesn’t get any better!  Congratulations guys – it was truly a joy to be a part of your day!
